A learning objective that I have been using throughout this semester is how can I used what I learn from writing or completing my assignment to apply to my future writings, and how I’m able to improve my writing in the process. I learned from this objective by analyzing what did and didn’t go weel when I published my work on blackboard and would try to understand comments or anything reply on my work and see how I can take their suggestion as an advice. This learning objective has helped me develop a certain habit to try to not put in unnecessary fill in the gap sentences just to merely meet a word count and actually try to shorten out my words a bit, so any writing doesn’t seem to dull and boring. This has helped me write more efficiently and precise to answer any questions that I would be assigned for a task.

One article I annotated was the “African Burial Ground: African Burial Ground National Monument, New York”, short story that displays pictures and information about the events leading up to the burial and how it was discovered in the 20th century. What I wrote in my annotations is “what specifically transpired for the site to be approved as a national monument?” Because when it was just discovered it wasn’t recognized by the constructers who found it and planned on discarding it. Annotating this article helped me realized that there is still more information yet to be shown about the site that wasn’t mentioned. It also helped me clarify things that seemed confused at first but analyzing it by annotating reassured my confidence of the topic that I was learning about. For now, the Article is perfect as it is because it gives the general information about the site that one would ask about and it makes it clear to me what other information, I should be looking for in order to make my research papers complete.

The genre of my essay are shorts stories that are meant to be used as an example to show the different ways of how I learn, which is the purpose of the essay. The audience of this essay is directed to the reader so they can understand my learning styles through my reflections of my memories/experiences. An aspect that I’ve achieve in this assignment was grasping the concept of what I can learned from a given situation and how I can apply the things of what I learned. Many times, when students are writing papers on a topic is to inform the reader of what they are talking about but sometimes we don’t stop to think what are we learning from the topic we are researching. When I changed my perspective, I learned how self-reflect on my memories and figured out at what point did a learn from a certain situation and what can I do with the information I’ve analyzed.

Something that has helped me alot during our learning is applying the word ‘’I” in my writing. Over the past few classes, instead of trying to understand the gist or main idea of a reading or assignment I now always think about what can I learn from it and what can I make out of it. What has made this very helpful and significant for me is that I can now rise to a higher level of comprehension when we are discussing or writing about a certain topic. For me specifically this boardens my writing skills and prepares to become more confident in what I write. So far there hasn’t been anything that confused although during class I don’t understand the premises or purposes of some assignments but by the end It was perfectly clarified for me; to out on a hypothetical if I didn’t receive any clarification then my response would be to ask the professor for quick help or ask any classmates on what im stuck on.
